Liska The Liska is the modern version of our best-selling Cuda series. Wider, more stable and updated with features that novice kayak anglers are looking for ... and experienced anglers demand. Versatile inshore/lake kayak fishing platform, the Liska uses the same Hi-Lo trimmable seating as the Cuda HD and MayFly. Track systems on the gunnels and large stern storage area add the functionality lacking in the original Cudas. New, narrow hinging center hatch with molded-in tackle storage and fishfinder battery compartment allow convenient storage without cramping standing area. Molded-in handle on the stern for ease of transport. Wider hull creates a more stable standing platform than the original Cuda, meaning it is better suited to larger paddlers, beginners, and more gear. Stand and sit with ease - comfortable, padded standing area is standard. Ergo Seat With MOLLE System features hi/lo positioning and track-mounted seat system, which means infinite trimming fore and aft in addition to a new accessory mounting system. The seat can still easily be removed for use at camp or lounging on the bank, or replacement with an Orion 25 + Handibak. Molded-in-center hatch features two chambers. Front chamber accommodates 2+ Plano cases without cramping standing area. Rear chamber fits cables + fishfinder battery and drains to a single center transducer-ready scupper. Single track on top of cover for mounting accessories. Multiple rod, tackle, and deck storage options. Padded floor, transducer ready, gear track on either side of seat and on large open stern storage area. Flush mount holders, 2007 RAM fishing rod holder, Ergo seat (maybe with new dry SealLine bag). Paddle holder molded in front hatch. Molded in handle on stern. The Liska is well-suited to a wide variety of water types and fishing styles, and includes functional versatility for any fishing style. This boat will be ideal for kayak anglers focused on flat water conditions who want more portability than some of our larger, heavier models.

I’d like to buy one but my local dealer won’t have it until may mid summer. Is there anyway I can order straight from Jackson?

        Hey Zak,
We do not sell kayaks direct as that bypasses our dealers. Sorry.

Is there a rod tip protector on the bow for rods being stored on the side of the kayak?

Unfortunately no, there is not a moulded in rod protector on this boat.

Hello Rick, I don’t work for Jackson so won’t answer specifically on “if the Coosa HD” ones will fit. I can tell you I purchased a Liska and made my own which look really clean and point towards the rear. I’m happy to share how and why I did so. Also, I didn’t drill any new holes in the kayak or obstruct any of the manufactured benefits.

I’m the recent new owner of a Liska. I don’t leave reviews near as much as I use them when shopping, but can’t sit by and not comment on my experience with this product and company. This boat was in my top three picks and the only one I hadn’t demoed when I stumbled upon an incredible used deal. I purchased the boat knowing I could sell for more money and purchase the Coosa HD or Native XC. I immediately took it on a two night 21 mile trip with three others. One of which, was paddling an XC. Over the course of that trip it was clear this boat was mine! I can’t describe how happy I am with the Liska. My main take away, that would have been very hard to determine during a demo is how much better the Liska paddled than the XC. Especially in the wind! My front hatch was slightly mis-shaped. Since I was keeping the boat, I decided it was getting replaced. I contacted Jackson via their info email inquiring about part number, price, and availability. On the next business day, Charlie Phonsnasinh sent me a warranty link saying this may be covered. I completed their easy warranty process. The next day, Charlie replied with an ETA on my warranty parts. They even sent me new Sea Deck since mine was pealing up a little on the edges. All of my paddling buddies can’t believe how well they stood behind their product for someone that purchased used! I’ve only shopped American made and American owed kayaks since I started in 2012. It would be really hard for me to shop anything but Jackson moving forward. Thank you Jackson for making the Liska and supporting your product so well! Thank you Charlie!

You rate the Liska 12 as very “standable”. What makes it so stable, and how does it compare to a catamaran style hull?

    1. January 12, 2019 at 8:55 pm

Hey Kevin – In general just look at the width at waterline of a boat, from side to side. The wider a kayak is the further out you can put weight and be supported. For instance – a 28” wide boat might be ‘standable’ but it’s very doubtful to be considered ”stable” if you plan to turn around while standing. If the boat is 32” wide it will be much more stable. The challenge is that all that plastic = more weight and more width slows the boat down. SO – Blue Sky, that catamaran construction, allows a wider platform with less weight and less boat in the water to slow it down. I hope someone else can comment on speed / stability of the Liska vs Blue Sky – there are many more aspects involved. Clay

Do you sell scupper plugs that fit the Liska?

Does the mesh bag behind the seat still come with the purchase of a new Liska from an authorized dealer?

    1. April 10, 2019 at 10:27 am

Hey Jared, sorry for the delay here – the Liska comes with a MOLLE-compatible snap latch pouch for the back of the seat. Our mesh bags are available for purchase in our online store, and many of our dealers carry them as well.
