— Who makes Jackson Kayak fly? I am a business owner who is successful because my team is running like a well tuned racing engine. Each member of the home team is responsible for more than the tasks their title suggests.  Jackson Kayak started out as a family run business and there it remains, but now the family has grown to a community of paddlers, builders, shippers and more.  Our little office in Sparta is now two full factories of activity and our growth continues with its staff as our heartbeat.  From Jase, our first employee to team members around the globe, our family keeps growing and all of us connected in ways only found at Jackson Kayak!

I am new to kayak fishing for the last two years (62 year old retired banker). I still have my first kayak which is as basic as it gets and therefore not expensive. I want to upgrade and have compared your kayaks (Cuda 12) to others and keep coming back to the Jackson.

Originally from Memphis, now living in Tuscaloosa, I know where Sparta is located. Do you ever sell demo kayaks which would be less than brand new?

In advance thanks for your help. Tom

      Hey Tom –
Kinda like asking the Ford plant for a good deal on a used car, we just don’t do that ๐Ÿ™‚

That said, check with your local dealer, Craigslist, etc but these boats are so new it will be harder to find them used. Google some fish kayak websites and ask for used models and I think that’s your best bet!

      Hello Tom,
Thank you for your interest. JK are the most comfortable fishing kayaks around ๐Ÿ™‚ so a good choice for you.
Maybe you can try looking for a second hand kayak? But I strongly reccomend you get a new one, the new Coosa HD is a real treat for beginners in kayak fishing, worth every penny ๐Ÿ™‚

We have become a Jackson family. I have a Zen 65, my wife has a Rogue 9 and will soon get a Zen 55 and our son, Marine Lance Corporal Eric Tucker who is stationed in NC has a Fun.

We love your product. As someone who has had two back operations the seating in the Zen is excellent.

Thanks for the support and for the kind words! We’re stoked to hear that you have a kayaking family ๐Ÿ™‚

Our Jackson family is now a Fun, Zen 75 and a Karma. As an older individual who has had two back surgeries and two knee surgeries the combination of the great backband/seating, bulkhead and lighter weight makes Jackson kayaks the best for me.

I’ve been fishing off a Cuda for the pass two years and love the boat. I always get questioned about it everywhere that I go. I had to search far and wide to buy the boat and ended up buying in Delaware. I actually installed the rudder system myself.
I’m wondering if your company is looking for a sales representive to help expand your business?
Please feel free to contact me through my email and will be happy to send you my resume.

Hi Emily – I met you at the the dump / recycling center in Doyle last winter. My wife and I from Nashville, and have young children. We just recently bought on the the Caney in Quebec by the boat launch, Just wanted to say hello and would still love to tour the plant in Sparta. Let me know if that is still possible. I am interested in purchasing fishing and adventure / touring kayak. You had mentioned that periodically you will have a โ€œgarage saleโ€ at the plant where you have crafts that are slightly damaged, extra inventory, etc. Is that still the case and if so, when will your next one be? I will also contact retailer in Cookville.
Was really good to meet you and look forward to hearing from you.

    1. July 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm

Hey Andy – Welcome to the neighborhood! I’ll forward this on to Emily now, but we’re both out of the area paddling and promoting. They have suspended tours recently but you can call and ask when they will get back to them. We got really busy with sales this summer and had to keep everyone on the phones.. but usually things slow down late August. Clay

I am Very Close to your Jackson Kayak plant that you just moved to in between Doyle and Sparta I have an idea I would like to pose to the owners and see if they would be interested in making it I think it would be a large seller especially for the kayaking and boating community

    1. September 24, 2018 at 10:59 am

Hey Samuel! Two options – A. come on in and meet Customer Service staff and see who they suggest you talk to and B. write NTroutman at or DBungard at and see if they have some interest. Good Luck! Clay

Hey Guys, I recently formed an ultra endurance race through Scotts Gulf which will be ran on August 31st of this year. This will be a 40 mile running event that will cross the Caney Fork River four times. I realize that has nothing to do with Kayaking directly, but I thought that reaching out to a great local company like Jackson Kayak would not only be a great tie in to the River crossings, but also a great way to cross promote to a group of athletes that might not normally see Jackson Kayaks product. Would love to talk to someone about possible sponsorship ideas!

    1. March 22, 2019 at 10:22 pm

      Hey Doug!
Our event sponsorship application is on the website but I’m pretty sure they just wrapped them up for the season, so try emailing me and I’ll forward along. My first name or info@Jacksonkayak dot com. Look forwards to hearing about it! Clay

Marty, Is the 2010 the beginning of the 3rd generation fun and what is the difference with the previous years?

    1. July 4, 2019 at 4:33 am

Hey Ed! Marty has gone dirt biking or traveling but the Fun’s evolved in this way. Original – great all around boat but outfitting outdated. V2 – slicier and faster, great cartwheels or downriver running but not great loops. The 3 was BIG – great river running and wave surfing, will loop, not very slicey, maybe our biggest version. V 4 is the current model and it’s my favorite. V4 is an amazing downriver runner and feels far ”safer” than previous models in some ways but it’s also slicey and playful on eddies and waves. Don’t expect easy squirts but you can squirt despite how big and safe it feels downriver. Enjoy!
